Dencap FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

How are the fees for this Scheme set?

We have always believed in offering patients realistic Professional Charges. Our Fees are set partly by reference to your oral health to enable us to provide a high quality service in a relaxed environment. We do not believe in overcharging for any procedure.

Can anyone join the Scheme at any time?

You must be ‘orally fit’ to join this Scheme. Any work that is required to make you ‘orally fit’ would have to be done before joining the Scheme.

How is it decided whether I am ‘orally fit’ or not?

The amount of treatment you have received in the past and your current oral condition from an initial examination will guide the dentist in his or her clinical judgment. If you are not ‘orally fit’, you will be expected to complete all treatment necessary to render you ‘orally fit’ before joining the Scheme. A full written estimate will be issued to you and treatment will only begin with your consent.

What are the costs involved?

  Registration Fee
Adults (18 & over) £20
18-21 & in full time education £20
aged 6-17 £10
under 6s £10

In addition to the monthly payment there is a one-off registration fee payable when joining the Scheme.

The monthly fees then depend on the Scheme you choose and how many additional family members are added. However, you will still have to pay prescription charges, laboratory fees and specialist fees in addition to your monthly payment.

Do you offer any discounts for additional members?

We currently offer a family†† discount of 10% on the monthly payment for the second and subsequent adults who wish to join at the same time as the first adult family member. There are further discounts if you’d like to add your children to the Scheme as all children under 18 are automatically upgraded to our Platinum level for FREE** and there is also a 10% discount on the monthly payment for students aged 18-21. See Budgeting for your Family >

What’s my first step - how do I join?

The fees are from £11 per month for adults - paid by direct debit.

For further information, simply complete the registration of interest form or give us a call and speak to one of our Dencap advisors who will happily answer your questions.

Will I need to fill in any paperwork?

After we have received your initial form an oral examination will be scheduled to make sure you are ‘orally fit’ to join your chosen Scheme. Following this, you will be taken through the Agreement process with a Dencap advisor to sign and complete the relevant forms. It is a requirement that each patient enrols on the practice premises only.

How will I be recognised as a member of Dencap?

Once an agreement has been completed you will receive a unique Welcome Pack which includes your registration number and an Acknowledgement / Welcome Letter stating your date of entry into the Scheme, confirmation of which Scheme you have joined, the date that payment will be debited from your bank/building society account together with the amount and the intervals at which they will be made.

What do I do if I would like to leave the Scheme?

Members are required to give three months’ written notice to Dencap Ltd before leaving the Scheme.
